I’m Shannon, the lady behind the Rocket ;)
I am wife to a very nice Portuguese man, mom to a busy ginger baby boy, and furmom to 1 x cocker spaniel affectionately known as Fish (that’s not her name, but just go with it).
I love time spent with my family, naps, any sort of carbohydrate, Quentin Tarantino movies, not exercising, and watching soccer and golf with my husband (insert eye roll here).
I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years now. Still the best part of this job? It’s the people. I love the people I get to meet and the process of capturing them in a way that feels authentic, natural, and honest.
I love finding and capturing connections and moments in families. I love being with a family as they grow, from their excitement at their maternity shoot, to the joy (and exhaustion) of the first few weeks at home with their new baba. Seeing kids as they become real little humans and go through special days like their christenings and birthdays… that’s the stuff that fills my heart.
At the start of my career, I shot for over five years in the wedding industry. Those experiences taught me so much about finding moments in the craziness of a busy day. I really love bringing that perspective into my corporate event shooting. SO much effort is put into pulling these events together... and I want that to be evident in your images. Warm handshakes (oh, or elbow taps!), a greeting hug, an insane pair of heels that a lady has worn the entire eight-hour day, beautifully branded keepsakes in hands… I love to capture these moments alongside the more expected profile shots of speakers, and décor photos.
I feel so blessed that this is my job. It is something I love so much. So here’s to all the new families I’m going to meet, and the regulars who I have loved to document as their families grow… to new businesses being started, portraits being refreshed and events FINALLY being safe again… to families being brought together and all the messiness and craziness in between.
I can’t blinking wait.
